Requirements and standards for welding operation of liquid argon storage tanks

Date: Feb 27, 2020
As far as liquid argon storage tanks are concerned, the quality of welding and processing directly determines whether the storage tank can run safely and stably in the future. However, welding and processing of liquid argon storage tanks is a relatively high-tech job, so There are always some unexpected situations during the actual operation. In order to avoid unnecessary production costs and guarantee the normal use of liquid argon storage tanks, the professional R & D and production staff of our company will briefly share some tank welding and processing skills.

1. Welding of liquid argon storage tank
The vertical cylindrical liquid argon storage tank is a round tank formed by a circular tank wall with a central axis perpendicular to the ground, a flat disc bottom, and different types of tank tops. The vertical tank is composed of a vertical tank and accessories such as a ladder. , Platforms, etc.) and accessories (such as level measurement, fire protection facilities, etc.). Generally speaking, storage tanks with a volume greater than 100m³ are called large storage tanks, and the standard is GB50128-2005.

The foundation of the storage tank is where the storage tank is placed, which is required to be strong and firm; it not only affects the appearance, but also causes uneven stress on the storage tank. The storage tank foundation belongs to the civil engineering category, according to the foundation construction drawings and technical standards. Before the installation of the storage tank, the foundation of the storage tank is inspected, and it can be installed only after it is qualified. For the manufacture of large vertical liquid argon storage tanks, it is generally divided into sections, prefabricated and assembled, and then assembled. It is very helpful to improve production efficiency. First, the materials and accessories used in the construction of the storage tanks should be re-inspected. The standard is: GB74003-88 should meet the Grade III standard to be qualified.

2. Processing of liquid argon storage tanks
Processing technology of polyethylene storage tank: Polyethylene (PE) horizontal storage tank uses pure polyethylene (linear low density polyethylene LLDPE, high density polyethylene HDPE as raw materials) and uses the rotomolding process to form the whole at one time.

Processing technology of steel-lined plastic storage tanks: Steel-lined plastic vertical storage tanks, also known as tortoise shell linings (steel, net, and plastic three-in-one) storage tanks are the essence of steel-plastic composite products. It uses a special rotomolding process. It welds the steel mesh to the surface of the steel body, uses pure polyethylene as the raw material, and combines the steel plate, the steel mesh and the polyethylene into a whole by using a rotomolding process. The product has the advantages of no welding seams, no leakage, non-toxicity, anti-aging, impact resistance, corrosion resistance, long life and compliance with sanitary standards. It makes up for the shortcomings of poor rigidity, pressure resistance and temperature difference of the all-plastic rotomolding liquid argon storage tank.
