Precautions for underground lpg tanks

By Manager
Date: Nov 25, 2019
Because of its small footprint and low requirements for fire safety distance, lpg buried storage tanks are gradually increasing in demand. In daily sales, we often receive questions from customers about lpg buried tanks. Here, we summarize some technical data related to buried tank products.

lpg buried storage tanks, as the name implies, are buried in the underground lpg storage tank. The components of the storage tank are: saddle, tank part (including head and cylinder), manhole integration (including liquid phase port, gas phase balance port) , sewage outlet, level gauge, thermometer, manhole cover, etc.). The outside of the tank needs to be done in three steps, the cathode is preserved and backfilled with sand. Such products are necessary for the selection of storage tanks when the liquefied gas is built, the land area is small, and the fire safety distance is not enough.

Buried tank installation specifications and precautions:
1.lpg buried storage tanks to do cathodic corrosion protection, The tank of the lpg storage tank is in contact with the minerals in the soil, in the course of years of erosion will be corroded by acid, alkali, salt substances, over time will be fatal to the tank s damage. Therefore, for the lpg buried tank and related equipment, we mainly do the cathodic corrosion protection, connect the protected metal and the negative pole of the power supply through the 'protective method of applied current', and choose a conductive inert material to connect the positive electrode. . After being energized, the metal surface is caused to accumulate a negative charge, thereby suppressing metal loss of electrons for protection purposes. Prevent liquefied gas storage tanks from corroding metal equipment in soil, sea water and river water.
2. After installation, the lpg buried tank should be easily inspected and inspected in the future. The fire department and the special equipment inspection unit will make corresponding evaluations according to the use of the storage tanks regularly, so if necessary, they will enter the inside of the storage tank through the manhole to check. Corrosion of equipment, cracks in welds.

3. When installing lpg buried tank, use some fine sand to fill the upper surface of the buried tank. It is required that the sand size is evenly divided and the depth is about 400 mm. When installing the liquefied gas station, in order to control the wall temperature of the storage tank not to exceed 50 °C, it should be considered to install the pergola and spray water device in the storage tank area to reduce the temperature and heat insulation to prevent the container from appearing due to excessive wall temperature. Overpressure, which is especially necessary for areas with high summer temperatures. When making the pergola, ensure that the beam is not less than 2m from the top of the tank. The purpose is to facilitate the installation or operation of the staff on the lpg storage tank, and it is also for the safety of the staff.
