Anticorrosive coatings for cryogenic storage tanks

By Manager
Date: Mar 04, 2020
The cryogenic liquid storage tank has anti-corrosion performance, because it is coated with anti-corrosion coating on the internal and external surfaces of the cryogenic vacuum storage tank, and different parts of it use different anti-corrosion coatings. Under normal circumstances, the inner surface of cryogenic storage tanks uses light-colored non-carbon-based static conductive anticorrosive coatings, which solves the phenomenon of pitting pits that have occurred in the previous carbon-based static conductive coatings, and its use time is not long.

With the development of technology, now the emergence of light-colored non-carbon-based static conductive anticorrosive coatings. It can apply 4 EP-2000 non-carbon-based static conductive anticorrosive coatings to the inner surface of storage tanks, which can solve this phenomenon of pitting. Apply 4 EP-2000 non-carbon-based static conductive anticorrosive coatings to the inner surface of the storage tank, 2 primers, 2 topcoats, and the total dry film thickness of the coating> 200μm; apply 1 additional topcoat on the inner surface of the tank bottom The total thickness of the dry film of the coating is> 280 μm.

The outer surface of the cryogenic liquid storage tank adopts GR heat-reflective coating, which has weather resistance and stain resistance. It plays a role of heat insulation and cooling to the external high temperature, and can reduce the body surface temperature by 5-10 degrees. Apply two coats with a thickness of> 80μm; use the intermediate paint of GR heat-reflective coating for the middle paint, apply 2 coats with a thickness of> 100μm; apply GR heat-reflective paint with a topcoat and apply 2 coats with a thickness> 80μm ; The total thickness of the dry film of the composite coating is> 270 μm.

The outer surface of the cryogenic storage tank bottom plate adopts water-based lithium silicate zinc-rich coating, which has a good anti-corrosion effect, will not affect the welding construction, simple construction, and cathodic protection of the storage tank bottom plate. Apply two coats with a thickness of more than 80 μm; two coats of epoxy coal tar topcoat with a dry film thickness of more than 160 μm.

This is the coating used by the cryogenic storage tank (cryogenic pressure vessel). Anticorrosive coating is very important for the storage tank. If the anticorrosion is not done well, it will directly affect the life of the storage tank.
