What are the anti-corrosion coatings used in cryogenic storage tanks

Date: Apr 07, 2020
The cryogenic storage tank has anti-corrosion performance, because it is coated with anti-corrosion coating on the inner and outer surfaces of the cryogenic storage tank, and different anti-corrosion coatings are used in different parts of it. Normally, the inner surface of the cryogenic storage tank adopts light-colored non-carbon based antistatic anticorrosive paint, which solves the problem of pitting pits that occurred in the carbon based antistatic paint used in the past and has not been used for a long time.

With the development of technology, the emergence of light-colored non-carbon based anti-corrosive anti-corrosive coatings. It has applied EP-2000 non-carbon based anti-corrosive anti-corrosive coatings on the inner surface of storage tanks, which can solve this pitting phenomenon. Apply 4 coats of EP-2000 non-carbon based anti-static anticorrosive paint on the inner surface of the storage tank, 2 coats of primer, 2 coats of paint, the total thickness of the dry film of the coating is> 200μm; one coat of coat on the inner surface of the tank bottom , The total thickness of the coating dry film> 280μm.

The outer surface of the cryogenic liquid storage tank adopts GR heat-insulating reflective paint, which has weather resistance and stain resistance, plays a role of heat insulation and cooling for the external high temperature, and can reduce the body surface temperature by 5-10 degrees. Two coats with a thickness of> 80μm; the middle coat adopts the matching middle coat of GR thermal insulation reflective paint, two coats with a thickness of> 100μm; the top coat adopts GR thermal insulation reflective paint top coat, two coats with a thickness of> 80μm ; The total thickness of the dry film of the composite coating is> 270μm.

The outer surface of the bottom plate of the cryogenic tank adopts water-based lithium silicate zinc-rich paint, which has a good anti-corrosion effect, does not affect the welding construction, the construction is simple, and forms a cathode protection for the bottom plate of the storage tank. Two coats with a thickness greater than 80μm; two coats of epoxy coal tar pitch with a dry film thickness greater than 160μm.

This is the coating used in cryogenic storage tanks. Anti-corrosion coatings are very important for storage tanks. If the anti-corrosion coating is not done well, it will directly affect the use and service life of the storage tank.
