Date: Feb 18, 2020
If a valve in the cryogenic storage tank is suspected to be faulty, remove and repair it as described below. If a leak occurs in the valve seal of the storage tank, first tighten the sealing nut to see if the leakage has stopped, and then remove the valve.
Note: If valve parts are in stock, replace the defective valve with a new valve.

1. If the maintenance pressure vessel is in direct contact with the liquid valve, drain all liquid from the cryogenic storage tank.

2. Open the storage tank gas vent valve (A-12) to release all pressure.

3. Remove the bonnet of the pressure vessel from the faulty valve.

4. Remove the valve seat of the cryogenic storage tank.

5. Disassemble the valve and inspect all individual parts of the storage tank.
6. Clean all metal parts with a suitable bleach. Rinse the other parts thoroughly with hot water.

7. Dry all parts of the cryogenic storage tank with clean, low-pressure air.

8. Replace all worn, deformed, or damaged parts of the storage tank.

9. Reseal the valve of the cryogenic storage tank, you can pad the Teflon filaments inside, or you can wrap and seal. tight. Otherwise, when the valve becomes cold, water can enter the valve and freeze.
