With the development of the LNG storage tank industry and the continuous increase in demand, LNG storage tanks are also constantly developing towards large-scale development. Large-scale products have high storage efficiency and small footprint. Of course, they also save costs and are easy to operate and manage. The storage scale is easy to be large-scaled. It is the receiving terminal of liquefied natural gas storage tanks, natural liquefaction plants and urban gas storage equipment. The liquefied natural gas storage tanks mainly adopt the structure of vaulted flat-bottomed double drums, and the powder is insulated. Around 5000m3, the working pressure is 3.4～17.2kPa, and the working temperature is low temperature.
The development of large-scale LNG storage tanks started earlier in foreign countries. In 1958, the Chicago Bridge Steel Company of the United States built an industrial-scale LNG storage tank with a volume of 5550m3 in Louisiana. From the 1950s to the 1980s, the volume of double-wall adiabatic flat-bottom LNG storage tanks continued to expand: in the 1960s it was (1～3)×104m3. In the 60s it was (5～10)×104m3, and in the 1980s it exceeded 20×104m3. . 
The construction of large-scale LNG storage tanks in China began in the mid-1990s. In the late 1990s, Shanghai built a 2×104m3 cryogenic LNG storage tank in my country. Since the beginning of the 21st century, the three major groups of CNOOC, CNPC and Sinopec have respectively built or planned to build large-scale LNG storage tank receiving terminals in coastal areas such as Guangdong and Fujian.
At present, domestic large-scale storage tanks have been fully localized in terms of materials, design and construction, such as the Dalian and Jiangsu LNG storage tank projects. Judging from the economic development at home and abroad and the construction of large-scale LNG storage tanks, large-scale LNG storage tanks will be the main development trend of the LNG storage tank industry in the future.
