According to the national standard GB50160 "Code for Fire Protection Design of Petrochemical Enterprises" and petrochemical standard SH3136 "Code for Safety Design of Liquefied Hydrocarbon Spherical Storage Tanks", emergency shut-off valves should be provided for the liquid phase inlet and outlet of LPG balloon storage tanks. According to Sinopec's "Design Regulations for the Selection of Emergency Shut-off Valves for Liquefied Hydrocarbon Liquefied Gas Storage Tanks", emergency shut-off valves are specifically installed on the inlet and outlet pipes of LPG storage tanks. And on-off valve for emergency cut-off and isolation of flammable and toxic materials.
 
When the liquid level of the LPG storage tank reaches or exceeds the maximum liquid level limit, the emergency shut-off valve can be used to prevent material from overflowing the tank. No other fittings or valves shall be installed from the emergency shut-off valve to the liquefied gas storage tank nozzle except for the piping, and the spacing shall meet the requirements of piping installation, valve maintenance and process. With the intensive occurrence of safety production accidents in the petrochemical industry in recent years, the use of liquefied petroleum gas as a highly dangerous source has attracted increasing attention. To ensure the safe and environmentally friendly operation of liquefied petroleum gas, relevant units are required to liquefied hydrocarbon liquefied gas. The storage area safety technology shall be strengthened. As a safety technology, it is necessary to apply the emergency shut-off valve in places that are flammable and explosive and involve major sources of danger, so as to reduce the danger brought by factors such as pipeline operation, human error operation and external environmental changes. In this regard, the relevant departments have also made compulsory regulations.
