Purification and pressure control of lng cryogenic storage tank

The operating pressure of LNG cryogenic storage tank is 0.6-1.44mpa, and the operating temperature is - 162 ℃. The storage tank is composed of two layers (vertical or horizontal). In order to reduce the introduction of external heat into the tank, the two layers of the pressure vessel are insulated with pearlescent sand insulation material filled with vacuum, which is isolated from the atmosphere, avoiding the influence of atmospheric pressure or temperature change and the entry of wet air into the inside and outside The cold insulation layer between tanks effectively guarantees and improves the use effect of cold insulation materials.

1、 Purification of LNG cryogenic storage tank
Before the LNG cryogenic tank is filled for the first time, or after it is stopped for internal maintenance, the tank shall be purified. The purpose of purification is to replace the air or natural gas in the tank with inert gas to avoid the formation of explosive gas mixture of natural gas and air. This kind of purification is also called "inerting". The gas used for inerting is usually nitrogen or carbon dioxide.
2、 LNG cryogenic tank pressure control.
The internal pressure of LNG cryogenic storage tank must be controlled within the allowable range. The high or negative pressure in the tank is a potential danger to the tank. There are many factors that affect the pressure of the tank, such as the evaporation of the liquid caused by the heat entering, the flash of the liquid during filling, the drop of atmospheric pressure or the wrong operation, which may cause the pressure in the tank to rise.

In addition, when the temperature of liquid discharged or pumped or filled at a very fast speed is too low, negative pressure may also form in the tank. LNG cryogenic storage tank shall be equipped with pressure control device in the tank to ensure that the pressure in the tank is within the allowable range. In addition, the pressure vessel must be equipped with pressure relief valve and vacuum relief valve. The pressure safety valve prevents overpressure in the tank. The vacuum safety valve can feel the local atmospheric pressure to determine whether there is vacuum in the tank and generate negative pressure.
