Precautions when storing liquid nitrogen in cryogenic storage tanks

Date: Nov 19, 2019
In industrial applications, cryogenic storage tanks are commonly used to store liquid nitrogen. At the same time, based on the relevant characteristics of liquid nitrogen, there are some matters to be aware of when storing in storage tanks to ensure storage efficiency and safety. In the case of using liquid storage nitrogen in a cryogenic storage tank, it is necessary to ensure that the storage tank is cleaned once a year to prevent the liquid nitrogen from eroding the tank wall.

Before cleaning the storage tank, the liquid nitrogen should be completely discharged. The discharge should be carried out according to the professional method, and then the neutral washing liquid should be used for the cleaning work. After the cleaning is completed, a large amount of clean water should be used for the second flushing, and the storage tank is cleaned. It can't be put into use immediately, so make sure the water in the tank is dry.

At the same time, pay attention to the temperature of the washing liquid and the washing water. Because the liquid nitrogen is stored in the low temperature storage tank, the low temperature requirement is required. Therefore, the temperature of the cleaning liquid generally cannot exceed 40 degrees Celsius. The excessive temperature will affect the performance of the storage tank.

Low-temperature storage tanks are high-vacuum storage equipment for cryogenic liquids. In the course of use, it is necessary to pay attention to the relevant maintenance methods to ensure that the storage capacity of the storage tanks is fully utilized, and at the same time, the service life of the equipment can be extended to reduce the frequency of replacement of equipment. cost.

Before using a cryogenic storage tank to store a large amount of liquid nitrogen, an appropriate amount of liquid nitrogen should be injected to pre-cool the tank, and a large amount of liquid nitrogen is charged when the temperature in the tank is determined to be at an adapted temperature. The environment of the cryogenic storage tank should be kept dry and well ventilated.

In the process of storing liquid nitrogen in cryogenic storage tanks, it is necessary to reduce the number of opening times as much as possible. At the same time, it is necessary to pay more attention to observe whether the neck plugs have icing conditions. If there is any need to remove them in time, in addition, if there are water drops or hoarfrost in the neck. In time, it is necessary to check the insulation of the tank in time to determine whether the tank is suitable for storingliquid nitrogen.
