Operations to be avoided for LPG storage tanks
Date: Mar 31, 2020
Liquefied gas storage tank is a professional product for storing liquefied petroleum gas. It belongs to special equipment and three types of pressure vessels. Liquefied gas storage tanks require rigorous quality assessment of the materials, appearance dimensions and welding quality, operation quality, installation quality, internal equipment and safety accessories of pressure components.
The mutual geometrical positions of welded joints, welds, cans and pressured components are tested by non-destructive testing and magnetic particle inspection. Test the product's tightness, pressure resistance and various technical indicators that may affect the safe operation of the product.
Pay attention to the following when using LPG storage tanks:
1. The cylinder should be placed in a well-ventilated place, and the distance from fire and heat sources should not be less than 1.5m. Gas cylinders must not be roasted on fire, boiled in hot water or exposed to the sun. Be sure to check the air tightness of the gas cylinder valve and pipe joint, etc., and maintain the air tightness. Soapy water can be used to check for leaks. Testing for leaks under open flames is strictly prohibited. 2. When igniting, first ignite and then turn on the gas. This order should not be reversed. During use, someone should keep it, do not leave, and prevent water from boiling to extinguish the fire. After using the cylinder, the valve must be closed tightly to prevent air leakage.
3. The liquefied gas in the cylinder cannot be used up, and a certain residual pressure should be retained. The residual pressure should normally be greater than 49.03kPa to prevent air from entering the cylinder. After the LPG is used up, the residual liquid remaining in the bottle is also a flammable substance. Do not dump it to prevent fire caused by residual liquid flow and evaporation.
