An air-heated vaporizer is a device used to vaporize a liquid sample or solution into a gaseous state, but unlike a water bath vaporizer, it does not rely on an external heating medium (such as water). Instead, an air-heated vaporizer passes a gas (usually an inert gas or nitrogen) over the surface of the liquid sample or solution, using the heat of the gas to heat the liquid to its boiling point and convert it into a gaseous state.
