China-Chile Free Trade Agreement FORM F
The Free Trade Agreement between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Chile was signed on November 18, 2005.
On October 1, 2006, the China-Chile Free Trade Agreement came into force.
On April 13, 2008, the China-Chile Free Trade Agreement and the Supplementary Agreement on Service Trade Agreement were signed.
On November 22, 2016, it announced the launch of the China-Chile Free Trade Agreement upgrade negotiations.
On November 11, 2017, the Protocol between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Chile on Amending the Free Trade Agreement and the Supplementary Agreement of the Free Trade Agreement on Trade in Services (hereinafter referred to as the “Upgrade Protocol”) was signed.
On March 1, 2019, the Upgrade Protocol entered into force.
Members: China, Chile.
Meaning: It is the first free trade agreement signed between China and Latin American countries. The signing of the agreement will have an important impact on the further development of China-Chile economic and trade cooperation and comprehensive cooperative partnership, and will set a new model of South-South cooperation in the international arena.
