CO2 tank welds
Common welding methods include gas shielded arc welding (GMAW/MIG), tungsten inert gas welding (GTAW/TIG) and arc welding.
When welding CO2 tanks, low-temperature resistant steels, such as low-alloy high-strength steel (e.g. Q345R), are usually used to ensure that the welds can withstand stress and pressure in low-temperature environments.Common welding methods include gas shielded arc welding (GMAW/MIG), tungsten inert gas welding (GTAW/TIG) and arc welding. Welds must undergo rigorous non-destructive testing (NDT), such as ultrasonic testing, X-ray testing and magnetic particle testing, to ensure that there are no defects inside and on the surface of the welds, such as pores, cracks or inclusions.
Heat treatment after welding can help eliminate the stress generated during welding and improve the mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of the welds.
