China Gas pressure vessels advantages:
I. China classifies pressure vessels into three classes according to medium, pressure and volume: I. II. III, Chinese manufacturers can only produce all types of pressure vessels if they are qualified in all three classes; ASME does not classify them.
II. China requires steel plates to be impact tested, ASME VIII I does not.
III. NDT is required for every weld of a gas tank in China, and is mandatory for shells, diameters, wall thicknesses, and welds; it is not required in the USA, but only when the medium is lethal.
Throughout the production process, Chinese equipment requirements, testing requirements and personnel qualifications are more stringent than those of the ASME Code.
