General Principles for Dealing with Corrosion
General Principles for Dealing with Corrosion.
The general principle is:
(1) When intergranular corrosion, fracture corrosion and other defects are found on the inner wall, it is not easy to continue to use. If the corrosion is mild, it is allowed to be used under the original working conditions according to the specific conditions.
(2) When scattered point corrosion is found, but it does not affect the process operation (there are no cracks, and the corrosion depth is less than half of the calculated wall thickness), the defects can be used without treatment.
(3) For uniform corrosion and local corrosion, according to the principle that the remaining thickness is not less than the calculated thickness, it is confirmed that it can be continued to be used, the inspection interval can be shortened, the pressure can be reduced, or it can be scrapped.
