Precautions of Liquid oxygen storage tanks

Safe placement: Liquid oxygen storage tanks should be placed in a safe place away from fire, heat sources and combustibles, such as near air separation units. At the same time, explosion-proof electrical appliances should be installed around the storage tanks, and open flames or electric sparks are strictly prohibited.

Insulation maintenance: Regularly check the insulation performance of the storage tank to ensure the vacuum degree of the inter layer and the fullness of insulation materials such as pearl sand. If necessary, the vacuum degree of the inter layer should be increased by vacuuming.

Acetylene monitoring: The continuous evaporation of liquid oxygen in the liquid oxygen storage tank may lead to an increase in acetylene concentration. Therefore, the acetylene content in the liquid oxygen should be analyzed regularly. When it exceeds the standard, the liquid oxygen should be emptied in time for replacement treatment.

Equipment inspection: Regularly calibrate and maintain the storage tank and its ancillary equipment (such as pressure gauges, vacuum gauges, liquid level gauges, safety valves, etc.) to ensure that they are accurate, sensitive and in good condition.

Operation specifications: Operators should be familiar with the operating procedures and safety precautions of liquid oxygen storage tanks and operate strictly in accordance with regulations. Avoid unnecessary adjustments and maintenance work during equipment operation.

Static electricity and lightning protection: Static electricity removal facilities and lightning protection devices should be set up at the tank site, and regular inspection and maintenance should be carried out.

Fire-fighting facilities: Sufficient fire-fighting facilities should be configured at the liquid oxygen storage site, such as large CO2 dry powder fire extinguishers, fire hydrants, etc., to deal with possible fire risks.
