Tank roof cooling
The inner tank roof uses a suspended rock wool insulation layer, such as a tank roof set up 4 layers of glass fibre insulation layer, each layer is 100 mm thick, the density of glass fibre wool is 16 kg/m3, the thermal conductivity is 0.04 W/(m-K).
Bottom of the tank insulation
The bottom of the tank is more complex, and in addition to the sprayed polyurethane foam under the steel plate, a waterproof structure has to be designed. The diagram below shows a tank bottom insulation structure, including a 65 mm thick mat layer, 60 mm thick dense concrete, 2 mm thick waterproof linoleum, 2 layers of 100 mm thick foamed glass each, and finally a 70 mm thick concrete cover to protect the outer tank concrete from the effects of low temperatures
