An LPG skid is a group of equipment fixed to a chassis made of angle brackets or I-beams, which can be moved and positioned using a skid (now a lifting device). This group of equipment is exposed and in this respect differs from a control box. In practice, there are many other skid-mounted devices, such as skid-mounted generator sets, skid-mounted air compressors and heat exchangers. Skid-mounts are also called skid-mounts when they are integrated with equipment already installed, such as valves or pumps. When connecting to other equipment in the system, there is no need to install valves, gauges or other equipment between them. Only pipework is required for the connection.
