Safe use of cryogenic storage tanks
A cryogenic storage tank is a pressure vessel used to store various cryogenic liquids. Therefore, its safe use rules should take into account factors such as gas risk characteristics, cryogenic protection effects, surrounding environmental conditions, and pressure vessel characteristics.

1. Fire separation
The production type of cryogenic storage tanks is Class B, with a minimum fire resistance level of Class II. The fire separation between cryogenic storage tanks should not be less than half the diameter of the larger of the two adjacent tanks. There is no limit on the fire separation between oxygen storage tanks with a volume of less than or equal to 50m3 and their use plant. The distance between nitrogen and argon storage tanks should meet the construction and maintenance requirements and should not be less than 2m.
2. Lightning protection and anti-static
The area of cryogenic storage tanks should have lightning protection and anti-static grounding devices, and qualified units should be invited to regularly check the grounding resistance every year. The flange connections and threaded connections on the equipment, pipelines, and valves on the cryogenic storage tanks should be bridged with metal wires, and the bridge resistance should be less than 0.03Ω.
