VIE (Vacuum Insulated Evaporator) tanks .
The gas pressure inside the VIE tanks needs to be maintained at a constant level and if the pressure drops too much, the regulator that controls the pressure in the pipework will not work properly. To prevent this, when the pressure falls below a threshold, the valve opens and allows oxygen to flow through the heat exchanger fins. This evaporates the oxygen and raises the pressure in the tank.

If the usage is too low, the temperature will rise until the safety valve opens. When this happens, the VIE (Vacuum Insulated Evaporator) tanks will vent the gas. This is a normal part of the function of these tanks
